METHODS FOR CUTTING MICA

Examples on how to process Mica.

ROTARY DIE-CUTTING

Rotary die cutting uses high processing speed and precise dimensional accuracy to cut shapes out onto different material types. Moving in a circular motion, the blades around the die-cylinder cut out the desired shape onto our mica paper. Cutting out identical shapes as it rotates makes this type of dye cutting extremely useful & efficient for making numerous amounts of identical parts.

LASER CUTTING

Laser die cutting involves a high-speed laser that uses its energy to cut through different types of material; giving it the ability to make precise cuts. The machine can be programmed to cut virtually any shape or design needed, with ease. With the ability to cut through a majority of materials, including aluminum, steel, plastic and of course, mica.

WATER JET CUTTING

Also known as a waterjet, waterjet cutting is an industrial tool capable of cutting a wide variety of materials using extremely high-pressured water, or a mixture of water and an abrasive substance. A waterjet can cut both hard & soft materials including, stainless steel, aluminum, different composites, glass, gasket, foam, rubber etc.

CNC (Computerized Numerical Control)

This a process that utilizes pre-programmed software and code to control the movement of our production equipment. With its precision & accuracy, this machine will increase both production speed and efficiency, while also ensuring consistent product quality.

STEEL RULE STAMPING

A steel rule die works the same way as a cookie cutter. This die-cutting technique uses a sharp steel rule; that is formed into a stamping tool according to the desired shape. It presses the tool down onto the material against a flat surface. This then removes the edge pieces of the material giving it it’s desired shape.
